Baby gender prediction can be tricky but overall the odds are about 50/50 for having a boy or a girl so it’s anyone’s guess. Scientifically speaking, the female eggs contain only the X chromosome while the male sperm can have either the X or Y chromosome.
Fertilization of the egg by sperm containing a Y chromosome results in the conception of a son. Fertilization by an X chromosome means a daughter is conceived. There are several ways couples can naturally determine baby gender.
Sex Position
The sex position used when conception occurs can be used to predict baby gender. Cowgirl style position is where the woman is on top of the man allowing for deep penetration and optimum chance for the Y chromosome sperm to fertilize the egg resulting in a boy.
Plough sex style is like the missionary position with the man on top except the woman’s knees rest over the man’s shoulder. The idea behind this is deep penetration giving the sperm with the Y chromosome an advantage.
Shettles Method
Ovulation kits are helpful when using the Shettles method to determine baby gender. The idea behind this method is that sperm containing the Y chromosome swim faster than sperm containing the X chromosome. Intercourse before ovulation increases the likelihood of having a girl while intercourse during ovulation more than likely will result in the conception of a boy. For couples wanting to get pregnant right away, this is not a good method because intercourse is limited to specific times based on ovulation.
Whelan Method
The Whelan Method to determine baby gender is based on timing intercourse according to the woman’s basal temperature. Conceiving a boy requires having intercourse 4-6 days before the basal temperature rises. Conceiving a girl requires having intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation.
Chinese Conception Chart
The Chinese conception chart is said to have been discovered in a tomb and is supposed to be over 7 centuries old. The chart is based on the mother’s lunar age at the time of conception and the month of conception. The lunar age is based on 29 day months. The Chinese gender prediction chart allows hopeful parents to plug in dates and ages to determine the sex of the baby.
Diet
Controlling diet is another way to choose the sex of your baby. Conceiving boys requires eating foods with high pH levels since sperm carrying the X chromosome do not thrive as well in acidic conditions. Foods rich in calcium and magnesium should also be eaten. Conceiving girls requires a more alkaline environment and this means eating foods with lower pH levels. Also the diet should be rich in sodium and potassium.
Is It Just Coincidence?
Many swear that a baby gender prediction can be predetermined by one method or another. According to science, the only sure way to predict baby gender is by artificial insemination. But today research shows that there are new way to predict the gender of your baby naturally.

Posted before but it’s late and I don’t think I wrote the title of the question well. Sorry.
Perhaps I am looking too much into this because everything else is going so well in my life . . . but based on this information . . .
I am 27 weeks 2 days pregnant.
Due date was originally March 14th 2010 at 17week ultrasound.
Due date was moved up on the next Dr. visit to March 2nd 2010.
Due date confirmed on last three Dr. ‘s appointments to be March 2nd 2010.
According to the conception calculators, conception date is anywhere between Thursday, June 04, 2009 and Wednesday, June 10, 2009.

On May 17th 2009, my partner and I fooled around with another couple while on vacation.
Penetration occurred and was not protected, although, he did not finish (ejaculate) inside of me.
This is the only time we ever messed around with another couple – or that I ever was intimate with anyone besides my partner in years.

My partner and I had sex very often after this event and we did not use a condom.

Is it possible that the baby’s father is not my partners?

According to the information I have looked up – sperm can only live 3-5 days inside the woman.
Also, conception calculators are based 38 weeks from the due date.
My periods had been spaced out prior to this because I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome which my prior doctor’s had all said that because of this, Pregnancy would be extremely difficult for me.
I’m actually just curious, I’ve always loved babies (especially baby girls) who are born with a head full of brown hair better than bald babies. I’m wondering if it’s possible to conceive a baby that is born with a head full of hair? I’m wondering how does it work and is there any way knowing if your baby will be born with a head full of hair vs a bald baby?
I am 28 weeks pregnant. I am going to have a 4 d ultrasound on Sept. 2. My doctor seems to think that my baby boy is going to be about 8 or 9lbs when he’s born. I know he’s just estimating, but I am a little concerned. At 18 weeks he was 10 oz. Can you tell me what your baby’s weight was at 29 weeks.

Breastfeeding has always been recommended as the best nutrition for babies. It has everything that a baby needs and all mothers have the ability to produce it. But as good its benefits are, it isn’t as easy to do. Breastfeeding your baby may seem like a full time job and since it starts out as a huge adjustment for both you and your baby, it may become very difficult for you along the way. Breastfeeding tips that help you through this period is essential and beneficial for you and your baby.
Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for babies because it has all the nutrients that a baby needs, plus the mother’s antibodies to help fight off disease. Also, breastfeeding helps relieve pain from engorged breasts after birth and provides mother and child with quality bonding time.
These breastfeeding tips should give you the best breastfeeding help that you need:
Start Breastfeeding ASAP
One of the most emphasized breastfeeding tips is to start breastfeeding your baby ASAP, preferably within 24 hours after giving birth. If you’re concerned that you haven’t produced adequate milk yet or that your breasts feel swollen and tender, the only thing that would help is to start breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is the only major way to initiate milk production and relieve breast engorgement and pain. So generally, the best breastfeeding help you can get is from your own baby! Be Patient and Continue Breastfeeding
Possess the most useful attitude all throughout the breastfeeding period–patience. The first weeks of breastfeeding will be difficult. Your baby, used to being fed 24 hours before birth, may need to be fed frequently for the first few weeks. The breastfeeding tip? Be patient and ready to feed your baby around the clock. Soon, you and your baby will adjust to a feeding schedule that works for both of you. Don’t Stop Breastfeeding
The most difficult breastfeeding tip is probably this, because time will come when you feel like stopping and switching to bottle-feeding instead. You may want to return to work or your baby doesn’t like to breastfeed anymore. Continue to breastfeed even when you’re working by learning how to express your milk. Sometimes, your baby stops breastfeeding when it notices something different about you or your milk, i. e. a different smell. Pinpoint and revert these changes so your baby will go back to breastfeeding. Avoid Changing Habits
Anything you eat or do may affect your breast milk. So, smoking or drinking can affect the contents of your breast milk and your baby will notice it. So, another breastfeeding tip to take seriously is to avoid eating or doing something that you don’t want to pass on to your baby because either your baby will get ill or will refuse to breastfeed. Express and Store Your Milk When You Won’t Be Around to Breastfeed
The best breastfeeding tip when you won’t be around is to express your milk into a clean container and freeze it. Label it with the date and time you stored it. Breast milk can be stored in the refrigerator for 48 hours and up to 3 months in a freezer with a separate door. When de-frosting, put it in the refrigerator for several hours or under cool running water. Never leave breast milk to thaw in room temperature and never refreeze it again. Never use your microwave to warm breast milk and throw out any remaining milk that your baby doesn’t drink. Never Use a Rubber Nipple to Feed Expressed Breast Milk
When feeding expressed breast milk to your baby, use a spoon or a cup and never a rubber nipple. There’s a huge difference between the nipple and a rubber nipple that your baby will get used to if you expose him/her to it. A spoon or a cup will not satisfy the baby’s need to suck, so your baby will eagerly go back to breastfeeding when you’re available. Do the same when your baby refuses to breastfeed (which happens when your baby is sick or has sensed some changes) so your baby will go back to normal breastfeeding when s/he is ready. Seek Instructions from Health Professionals
Most mothers will benefit greatly from the breastfeeding help they can get from health professionals, such as a doctor, public health nurse, or breastfeeding counselor. They will teach you the correct way of breastfeeding, more breastfeeding tips and other important details that you need to know.

At 22 weeks pregnant, you are just about at the end of the second stage or trimester of your Pregnancy. The baby is now just over a pound in weight and measures almost eleven inches long from the top of its head to its heels. If you were to be able to actually see the baby at this stage, the skin would be quite wrinkly even though the facial features are developed. This is because the baby needs to gain weight now and fill out more. You would not be able to see what color eyes you baby has because the pigment in the irises is not yet developed. The inner organs are still developing and the pancreas is starting to produce hormones. The lungs have not yet developed so the baby would have difficulty breathing on its own. During this stage tooth buds, which will develop into teeth, start to appear in the gums.
Your belly has expanded significantly and you are likely wearing maternity clothes or at least clothes with elastic waists. It is quite normal form expectant mothers to have gained about 15 pounds by the 22nd week of the Pregnancy. You are starting to feel much better than you did in the early weeks because the nausea, frequent trips to the bathroom and the tiredness are gone or at least not as intense as they once were. You will likely have a greater appetite for food that you were unable to eat during the morning sickness period and you may start having cravings for foods that you previously wouldn eat. These cravings often occur at odd times, such as in the wee hours of the morning. Once you realize the type of food that you do crave, it is a good idea to have some extra on hand so that your partner does not have to try to find a supermarket that is still open at this time. If you consistently crave junk food, you should try to find a healthier food that you enjoy and can substitute for it.
One of the things most expectant mothers notice at the 22nd week is that they have vaginal discharge. If this is your first pregnancy, you may become alarmed and schedule an appointment with your doctor, but this is a normal part of being pregnant. You may become more susceptible to urinary tract infections because you are not going to the bathroom as often and you may start having haemorrhoids. You should make sure you drink plenty of water and avoid foods that may cause you to become constipated.
During this time, your ligaments and muscles are starting to expand to make room for the growing uterus. This means you may have pains in your belly area and may become alarmed that there is something wrong. These aches and pains are also normal and will eventually subside. You should use creams and lotions to soothe your skin so that you won have too many stretch marks after the baby is born.
